Thanks everyone. I don't know what he is. I just know he's kinda creepy and devilish with the eyes.
Had to look it up since I'm a bit of a bird watcher. It is a yellow-crowned night heron. The red eyes do look a little demented but probably another heron of the same kind would find them charming.
