Chicken Dance
Taken at a San Antonio Missions AA minor league baseball game. From left to right, the Missions mascot Ballepeno, Church's Chicken mascot (a sponsor), and the Corpus Christi Hooks mascot.
But what I really want to know is do you know how to do the Chicken Dance?

Pat O'Brien Cryer
This is Pat O'Brien's across the street from RiverCenter Mall in downtown San Antonio. I always get a kick at the man in the funny hat yelling out, trying to entice people into his place of business. This business is almost directly opposite this photo that Thiên took back in May.

Tool Yard
The other night I went to drop off my husband at a budget hearing for the City. I was pleasantly surprised by the City of SA facility b/c it was so cool! In the yard were all these oversized tools as sculptures and then I saw these benches. I thought it was a very cool idea. The facility has meeting rooms and serves as a service point for City departments. It was too dark for pictures of the sculptures but I'll go back sometime soon perhaps. It's way on the north side of town for me and I don't get up there often.

IDOLers
This is the Alamdome, where the Spurs played after they left the Convention Center and before they got the AT&T center. The people you see in line are hoping to try out for the new season of American Idol. The line starts around the corner (left side of the pic) and goes around the other corner of the building (the right side of the pic). I would say the line encircles the building halfway—and it's not a small building.

Tacos!
In San Antonio, people routinely eat breakfast tacos for breakfast. You can strike up a conversation with just about anyone asking them where their favorite place is for tacos.
Breakfast tacos are small tortillas filled with different combinations. Some favorites around here include bacon & egg, chorizo & egg, potato & egg, bean & cheese, or even barbacoa.
What do you have for breakfast?

UTSA Downtown Campus
This is the downtown campus of the University of San Antonio at Texas. I think it's a nice building. On the othe side there is an art installation that you can see from the highway. A bit ago this building had problems because the tiles were falling onto the sidewalks. The people who work and go to school here are lucky during Fiesta, they can walk to many events.

SegCity
I saw this group on my way into work this morning. They were gliding smoothly along downtown and were checking out San Fernando Cathedral. I would really like to try the Segway and see how it feels. Girls, we should do this as one of our outtings!
You can check out a directory of different cities offering these tours. Here's the one for SA.

Mall Life
This is at one of the most popular malls in SA, Northstar. We were sitting and waiting on our son as he shopped inside Hollister (not the gun company as Sonia thought when I mentioned this).
Have you notice the youths have "uniforms" they wear? Baggy shorts, kind of raggedy, tshirt and longish hair. The boys look the same, the girls all look alike...sigh. Why is it so hard to just be you when you're young?
Should have gone to grab a bite at the restaurant across the way. ;)
