Patio

Central Library 3rd Floor Patio
This is one of the Central Library's 3rd floor patios. The other one which is on the other side of the library but on the same floor was the shooting location for a scene from the movie Selena. If you've seen the movie, it's the backdrop for the press conference she has in Mexico. I've also heard that the basement was used for a hospital scene in the same movie, but I'm not sure about that.

  1. Beautiful building. Is the plants a first attempt at going green? Some buildings have not replaced roofs with grasses.

  2. When I first saw this building I thought it was a little weird but it does grow on you—people either tend to love it or hate it.

I'm not sure about the going green part. I know it was supposed to be self irrigating using the water garnered from the airconditioner that keeps us all cool in the summer, but I think I heard that system didn't actually work, so the plants are watered by hand.

  6. Berson, it's funny you mention the color of the walls. I know that people do ask for the RGB values of the wall so that they can replicate it.
