Smudgy Moon

Fuzzy moon taken through my neighbor's Crape Myrtle trees.

  1. The moon is framed beautifully by the trees. And, I am impressed that you know the name of the trees!

  2. Thanks Kate! Crape Myrtles are one of the trees I learned first when I moved to Texas. They have these ginormous blooms (often in hot pink or lavender too) all summer! They are hard not to notice.

  3. *hehehe* that's more than I know Sarita, and I've lived here all my life. I still think every tree is a Pecan tree or a Mountain Laurel, but wait is that a bush?

  4. The white ones are my favorite and I planted one in the backyard last year. In NC, we used to drive thru a town called Fuquay-Varina and they held an annual crepe myrtle festival.

  5. I have to admit, I love the gaudiness of the hot pink ones...and I am not a hot pink kind of a girl.
