The Birds!

picture 316

When we leave the library and go south on Main, we pass the artpace gallery and I just love the place. Currently, this is the exhibit and I haven't gone in so I don't know any information about the artist or work. But I think it's pretty cool looking.

  1. the birds, the birds! *hehehe* I saw the title of the post and thought of the movie. Great shot. I do love the way they have them strung up. I read a book one time that had a scene that would have probably looked like this if it could have been brought to life. EGGscellent. /me wondering how I could do this at home.

  2. The artist is Kate Terrell she is my stepmother

  3. This is Kate Terrell. I made the birds along with a dozen Jefferson Highschool students. The idea was born from visiting their school and seeing the overwhelming amount of students. The birds are all together flying in one direction, but each unique in style, size, and gesture.

  4. Kate Terrell is a gift to the San Antonio art community. What an amazing piece!

  5. Kate has worked extremly hard on this piece and I am very proud of her. She is a fantastic artist

  6. I wanted to take the time to thank you for posting on this site. I grew up an hour south of SA, and lived in SA for 8 years. I moved to Idaho almost 2 years ago. I LOVE looking at your photos - it makes me feel like I am home! Keep up the great work!

  7. WOW! Shorty, thank you everyone for visiting. And thank you so much Jeremiah and Kate for visiting our little blog and telling us more about the work. It is a treat for us. Kate, Shorty and I love your work, very cool.

Hi Denise, hope you visit us again soon and often. If you have a request, sent it and we'll try to snap a shot for you.

  9. "Noël est là,
Ce joyeux Noël, des cadeaux plein les bras,
Qui réchauffe nos coeurs et apporte la joie,
    Jour des plus beaux souvenirs,
    Plus beau jour de l'année."
    Washington Irving

    “Christmas is there,
This Merry Christmas, gifts full arms,
Who heats our hearts and brings the joy,
Day of the most beautiful memories,
More beautiful day of the year."
    Washington Irving
