Another butterfly
Spring is back, after last weekend's near-freezing temperatures - a rarity for this time of year in San Antonio. So, here's a Giant Swallowtail (Papilio cresphontes) feeding on some Texas Lantana (Lantana horrida).
Exquisite shot; what a pretty creature. Lantana is poisonous, isn't it? We get the yellow, pink and orange one here (cherry-pie), but it's classed as an invader and has to be taken out. I think your pale yellow one is much prettier, though.
ooooh, nice shot Tex. I also like the pic of City Hall a lot. You are right, it looked much better back then.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Lantana is a noxious weed in these parts, and people work hard to try to eradicate it!
